Avant Speaker help

Hey all,

Nice forum, been looking at it for ages whilst deciding on which Audi to buy.

So breifly, my problem is this..

I have a 1996 Audi A4 Avant.
I recently fitted a new Blaupunkt Santa Cruz head unit *(mp3 player)
The problem is that none of the front speakers are working, the read door speakers work perfect.
The front door speakers were not working with the old head unit either so I know the new head unit is fine.

Neither of the front door speakers or the tweaters fitted above the door handles are working.

I have taken the car to a local audio centre where they took off one of the door panels and tested the speakers.
Apparently they are all blown and need replacing.

My questions are:
Has anyone replaced these before?
Has anyone had this problem before?
Are the audio centre guys just fobbing me off?
Where can I buy them from online?

I have been to the main Audi parts company here in Ireland and they can see the parts on the database but cannot give a quote till late next week.
They estimate somewhere between 200 / 500 Euro's!! :headshake

I have seen a lot of good posts on this forum so I hope someone can help me with this dilema.

Also included a link to a picture of the car if anyone is interested

Another thing I forgot to mention.
The speakers in the bottom of the door panel are made by Nokia.
Model number: 8 D0 035 411 A
Not sure about the tweeters.

Thanks

When ever I heard of people replacing the Deck on a audi and some of the speakers dont work usually you jsut need a new wiering harness.

Yep, the wiring loom has been replaced and the speakers have been confirmed as blown by an audio store here in Dublin.
