Can anyone please tell me where the fuel pump is located in a 88 bronco xlt? (351 engine) Is it in or out of the tank? Just wondering what the repair bill is going to be like after the tow bill! She just quit on me tonight, just like I was running out of gas... and then wouldn't start again... turned over fine, power seems to be fine, just not getting any fuel it seems.
Thanks in advance.

OMG, I'm so sorry to hear that.
You have two. One is on the frame rail, in front of the fuel filter. By in front of, I mean as the fuel comes from the back, so it's behind the filter as you look at it. I hope this didn't fail on you.
The other is in the tank, with the fuel sending unit. (Which reads your gas level.) You have to take the tank off to get to it, and the Unit (with Sending Unit) costs about $120, the last I looked. The Pump without the Unit costs about $100. (But there's all that tank business you'd have to pay for.)
The worst part would be if the second pump failed. (As it did in my '87 302.) I spent a few hours stuck with it, then went to look at buying a whole new power train because I had no idea why the thing had quit....turns out that one of the two electrical leads had fallen off the pump. JUST FELL OFF. It was a matter of reconnecting the wire, and turning the little nut tight. Check for this problem before you comission any work. (A garage will soak you if they can...and nearly anyone can learn to fix old Fords!!! :) )

Under the driver door side next to the frame. Follow the fuel line from either the Throttle body or the tank and you will find it. Cylinder looking thing with electrical wires. The one with no wires would be the fuel filter. I have an 88 also.
