FYI, Xterra buddies. This is a story with the Good, the Bad and the Ugly.
The Ugly. I purchased a 2004 Xterra new from my local dealer.
Michael Jordan RPM Nissan in Durham, NC. That is the ugly part of this story because I attempted to become a Nissan Experienced customer that had the best in factory offroading at my fingertips. After windows that would not roll down, a transmission that jumped in and out of overdrive so much it makes you sick to your stomach and a cruise control that turned a cruise into the sinking of the Titanic. 6 Months and 500 dealer applied miles later I was threatened with arrest if I did not leave the dealers lot when I became outraged that not only did they not fix my vehicle, but they did not even run it through State Inspection (2 months out of date) as was requested when I delivered it the 10th time for service. NEVER NEVER NEVER Buy a Nissan at this dealer under the Signurature Service disquise. Yeah, service, sure, LIP Service...... The man Michael Jordan was a heck of a ball playa, but he really needs to remove his name from that dealership before his reputation turns to mud. I even witnessed their courtesy driver cussing customers in the parking lot because they had so many cars in for service he could not get the shuttle out. Thats the Ugly.
The Bad is my Xterra is one Bad-Mud and Mountain climbing vehicle. I found myself on a 60degree mountain side in the rain and mud and while my Chevy buddies were spinning and sliding up and down the hill I was able to creep backwards and forwards up and down without ever spinning mud on my paint. People would say, dont go over that edge because of the pile of Chevys at the bottom, I went over and never even spilled my beer, as I drove by the pile of other trucks at angles, in and out of the ruts. Thats one Bad Xterra...
The Good... The day I purchased my Xterra was followed by now 11 months of watching my wife's health deteriorate due to Cancer at age 37. While I sat in the hospital 1 week after my purchase, my wife was clinging to life while RPM Nissan racked up miles on my truck. Then they returned it NO TROUBLE FOUND. they took advantage of my situation and that made me so furious I put myself to the task of forgetting about Nissan and tending to my wifes health. The good part is my wife is still clinging to life and I have 5 other vehicles to get her to the hospital on time with dependability, security, and comfort. the doctors gave her 8 days to 2 months, who needs that kind of stress in addition to a bad vehicle purchase decision. I have a Chevy Van with 525HP that gets better gas mileage than my Xterra (28mpg Chevy vs 11mpg Xterra) , but the 4X4 on that Xterra is the smoothest I have ever used.
The Good is the lesson I learned about RPM Nissan in Durham, NC.
The Bad is the bad choice I made in dealers.
The Ugly is Michael Jordans RPM Nissan in Durham, NC
People to beware of.

So Xterra forum buds, Let me trade this Lemon in for a 2005 at another dealer and maybe I will feel like getting out in the woods more often playin in the mud and doing what I wanted in the first place. Gaining the Nissan Experience 1 lump at a time.

That sucks. I think my brother may have gotten a bad deal form them on his X. I have bought parts from them and have had no trouble from the parts department, although I went to school with one of the employees there.
hope your situation turns for the better both in life and auto!

Call Nissan's 800 number if you're so infuriated they had to call the cops on you. I believe you are displacing your anger at the dealership rather than where it belongs. Also, great random story about your Chevy buddies and random 60 degree slopes without spilling your BEER.

Already called the 800 Nissan number, they beat around the bush for over 5 months before sending a rep out to check the vehicle who promptly replied "No Trouble Found" yet when I left the dealer I was broke down almost in view of the dealer for over 1 hour fuming mad...
They threatened the cops on me as I was trying to leave but stopped because the service manager was popping around the corner of the building laughing his head off because he stole all the paperwork out of my truck (Owners manual etc , coupon book service papers etc).
I am a father of 3 and actually had my sick wife with me and was in no mood for games, just wanted service on my vehicle and to me their whole premise once they sold me the truck was to never see me again which was facilitated by their threat of police action when i became disgrunted over the stupid kid tricks their employees choose to play.
All the items I complained about from day 1 were valid and the only thing they actually fixed was the fact the windows would not roll down and then they dumped me. I complained about rattles and they ripped off the protective gasket that had come out from under the roof rack and they never fixed that, the brakes pulse when i exit the interstate from warped rotors and they never even checked that and the rest of the engine mechanical issues which still exist today.
I played it cool and filed a BBB complaint and backed out of arbitration over the police threats.
Currently this truck is now parked waiting for its 17000 mile service and I am unwilling to drive 75 miles to the next nearest dealer until my wifes health improves. So my whole Nissan experience has been ruined by a crooked dealer and lack of support from the Nissan people who hung up on me when I told them either fix it or i will go into BBB arbitration at which time they now refuse to even talk to me over this vehicle...
What will another dealer do as far as service on my vehicle ? Will Nissan even service my vehicle now ? Now I am stuck with this piece of Nissan crap with no dealer and no factory support.

People will treat you as you treat them. Starting out screaming and yelling at them will never solve anything. I highly doubt they stole all your paperwork, you may have left it there as you were trying to elude the cops. I also highly doubt they stole the rubber gasket for the roof rack. Dude seriously consider counselling and sell the truck while you're at it.

Who ever said I started out screaming at them. You must be one of the fairies that works there. Are you tired of my 2 foot lemon decals, or my daily 5 lap drive on your testdrive route on the way to and from work.
People that do not SCREW me stand by me and will say they never see me lose my temper, so for me to lose it after 6 months of putting up with a snow job by a bunch of car crooks doesnt mean I need counseling, it means I need to ramp up the pressure on them 10 fold. Time to order more decals for the sides I guess and darn where is the inflatable lemon I ordered for the roof while its parked at work.
Funny that since I starting parking it with the lemon stickers and posting the flyers on the internal message boards at the largest company in the US that I have not seen anymore RPM new cars parked there.
Oh they stole my paperwork and if I had known that day I would have stayed and waited for the cops to arrive because #1 they never called them and #2 I was eluding nobody. So dont pass this off on me and this seems even more like one of their pricks (Paul89se).
If I was a happy customer I would not be here posting BEWARE OF RPM NISSAN notices and instead I would be there trading up on a newer vehicle hanging out with the dealer I thought I would enjoy doing business with.
