I owned a 1996 plymouth voyager and sometimes my van wont start. I turn the key and nothing at all . I change plugs and wires, rotor and cap , ignition switch, starter, battery and cable ends, new ground, all relays, auto shut down switch, powertrain module and neutral safety switch. Does not matter if the motor's hot or cold. I notice when the van dont want to start I dont hear the fuel pump going . It's getting dangerous to drive it, because sometimes it even died when driving. No warning at all , it just died. I can start the van once by crossing the starter with a screwdriver. I'm at a point where I really dont know where to look . Does someone had the similar problem. Please help!

sounds like you have a bad ignition switch, that could be the reason why it's stalling intermittently.

I already change the ignition switch. the one on the left side of the steering column. Are you taking about the one that you put the key in on the right side of the steering. thanks

the lock cylinder could also be causing you problems, so I would check that out. Reading your earlier post, you mentioned that you can start the van using a screwdriver, if that's the case, you could have a bad starter solenoid. I know you've already replaced the starter itself, and the solenoid is attached to it, but it's not uncommon for the solenoid to be defective.

There also a starter relay in power distribution box under hood. This could be giving you a problem also.

I change the lock cylinder and everything seem to be the same. I forgot to mention that my backup lights were not working . I reinstall the old neutral star/park safety switch and my backup lights are working. I was looking at the chassis electrical system for the back-up light wiring diagram and its show a vio/blk wire going to the park/neutral position switch .. I dont really know how to read the system. do you know if that transmission range sensor is a part of the park / neutral position switch. it show a wht or blk/org wire leaving from that transmission range sensor. i wondering if the problem would be from that sensor, to the ignition switch . I dont know where to located that sensor . I have the Haynes repair manual to help but no luck yet. thank
