'05 ion2, weird problems for me

well i've had mine for 3 months and i had to take it back to fix my gauges twice already, some reason (i guess 1 in every 20 start ups) my gas meter would just stay at empty even tho i KNOW i have gas, and my speedometer would hasitate, like if i go from 0 - 30, it wouldn't move for the first 2 seconds then it jumps up 30, and it would do the same when i stop, it'll take a couple seconds before it go back down to zero. the saturn people told me there were 2 updates to the computer so they did it for me under my warrinty. anyone know what the lemon law is?? i don't want to get stuck with a car thats gonna keep messing up on me after my warrinty runs out

the 2nd problem isn't as serious, but EVERYTIME i get out of my car and touch my door to close it, i get a static shock, does this happen to anyone else??? maybe it's the way i'm sitting and it's causing friction but this is the weirdest thing ever, it happens to everyone that drives my car
p.s. just so everyone know i have cloth interior

i think you jumping to ends looking to a lemon law for a funky dash, every car has some problems, i have never seen a car that doesn't, thats why there are warrentys. if the problem is reported before the warrenty runs out,but in that time the dealership can not fix it, normally they extend the warrety for that part until the problem is resolved.

2. sometimes this happens, for no reason at all. i have seen people adding ground straps to solve this. they hang under the car and ground the vehicle to the road. i also wonder if adding ground straps to the seat would help...

2005 Ion 3's are no better, had mine for 3 months and it's been in the shop 5 times. Twice for the radiator, broken and dropping all my coolant out, last three times for the check engine light on and still in the shop and they cannot figure out what the problem is, I spent 17,000 on the car and they give me a Chevy Aveo for my rental, I pay for a Saturn Ion and I get to drive a 8000.00 car brand new... and they tell me it's comparable to my ION. I find Saturn to be a awful company and they disgust me with their crappy cars and shoddy service. I will never buy or drive another Saturn, not even if it was free. You better believe I will tell EVERYONE I know what a shoddy company they are as well. :screwy:

I had nothing but problems with this car. I had a 2005 saturn ion. I had to take it into the dealership on many occassions. The headlights had to be replaced due to condensation buildup and the main window control on the driver side replaced and other minor things. Anyways, at the end of my lease, my car wouldn't start so i had the darn thing towed to the dealership (at my expense) and they told me the fuel pump is bad and it's gonna cost ME $950 to replace it. Now, I've owned many vehicles in my lifetime and I've never had to replace a fuel pump! I even owned a Geo Metro before and that car never gave me any problems. I called Saturn at 1-800-972-8876 to document my probelm and they assured me that if there is a recall in the future on that particular component, I will be reimbursed. Then, I went on the internet, and behold, there were recalls on saturn fuel system for 2004 and 2007 saturn ion.

What are you touching that is metal to give you a static shock? Everything in the car is plastic!

sometimes the tires is the cause of static discharge.
