Hard to shift out of "P" after warming car?

Hi,

I've always believed that warming up a car for at least a minute during a cold-start is a good idea. However, recently (although it may have been there before already), I've noticed that AFTER warming up for a full minute, it become hard to shift the gear out of "P" and into any other gear...This does not happen when I first cold-start - shifting out of "P" at that time was easy and smooth. After a full minute in "P", however, the shift feels rigid, and if I shift out of "P", it feels as if I might break something inside the car. Fortunately, this goes away after driving for a few kilometers...

What's going on?

Sounds like when the engine is running fast, it does not like to shift. Maybe if you let it warm up all the way until the motor slows down, then it is easy. Is that correct?

You're absolutely right - guess I should do that...

So it's not a bad idea to let it warm up first?

Loosen your throttle kick down cable. Its under the cable that pulls the throttle lever. Move it away from the rubber stopper by a few turns.
