Ok i have had my sol for awhile and i love it. It is no where near a stock sol but it isnt exactly on the cover of a magizine. I'm finshing up on what i wanted to do to it is time to move on to something bigger....
I've come in to some money and i want to do the inpossible build a show stopper that can kick anyones ass on the street. On top of that i want a daily driver, not so much cause it will be but more as a point that it is possible to have it all if you are willing to sacrifis somethings at all the differnet levels. So here is what i have in mind so far let me know what eles i need and what you think. this is no where near a final plan.
93 Del sol S with low miles as a base car
Internal:
I want to do a b16a2 swap but i want the engine built up before it is put in so that it can handle all of the boost. I want a greedy, hks or someother turbo charger and intercooler. But to get the turbo to spool up i want a jacksons racing supercharger. Aem intake. Dc sports header and cat back system, jacobs ignition, perforance spark plugs, full engine dress up everything blue and white or chrome
Road Control:
I want racing springs, 17 inch white rims, perforance shocks, front and rear bars, sturts and performance brakes.
As you can tell i dont know much about suspention please help
Body work:
Cant decide what body kit. I want it painted a color similar to honda eletron blue. Carbon fiber hood, z3 fenders, Aerodynamc Mirros (carbon fiber), Carbon fiber wing, and roof wing, moon roof top from darksol, red over white tails, Catz fog lights, light blue street glow to accent the darker blue color, blue light bulbs that match the car color, all clear markers, washer lights that match the street glow, shaved door handles and radio antenna, what more did i leave out????
Interior:
White with blue interior with white and blue leather racing seats, 2 15 inch subs in the trunk, mid bass in the back, mids in the door and highs up on the dash. 7 inch filp out dvd player with xm radio. xbox mounted in the trunk with controler ports on the right side of center concile. not sure what im going to do with the area behind the seats yet other then the mid bass, eurodash trim, white guage faces on all guages, shitlight mounted on right side of dash, 3 gauge pod on a a pillar, also 3 guages right above the glove box. turbo timer, all interior will be re done in white that is accented with blue. white carpeting in the whole car with custom sticked floor mats with blue stitcking, i hope to get one of the new type r streering wheels and put a blue logo in it so that i can still have the air bag, short shifter,

I'll try to help you out with what I can here. First of all, you probably won't find a '93 S with low miles. It seems like you're replacing most everything though, so I'd try to find the cheapest one with as straight of a body and no rust as I could get.
Now to the engine. A B16A2 swap...that's good. A turbo...that's even better. Looks like you need some help with the specifics :). It would be much easier and simpler if you didn't go with a twincharger setup, and just stuck to a turbo. A JRSC that put out about 10 psi or more would work, but I think a turbo is your best bet. Like you said, before you put the engine in the car, building it up is a good idea. A lot of this will be up to you to decide, but new rods and pistons would be a good start. Those are the "big two" things to replace, and you can really kinda go nutty here spending money on building the B16. I'd say just do a few things then go with a Hondata to set it all up. A Drag turbo kit is fine. With a turbo, you don't need an intake or a header. Get a muffler with a 2.5" or 3" inlet diameter, and get 2.5" or 3" tubing (stainless steel mandrel bent) from your header back. You can either use a Car Sound cat ( www.testpipe.com ) or a test pipe. That should take care of the exhaust. For the ignition, go with an MSD...Jacob's sucks IMHO. I've heard a lot of crap about their stuff.
For the suspension, get coilovers. Either sleeves (Ground Control) or full ones (Progress, A'PEXi, Tein, JIC-Magic, Koni, etc.). If you use sleeve coilovers, you'll need new struts. Tokico Illuminas should work fine for you. Coilovers allow you to raise and lower your car, which is great for a daily driver/show car. For brakes, try www.fastbrakes.com and get their Wilwood kit.
That's about it. The body and interior is your personal preference, so unless you have specific questions about it, I'll leave that up to you.
If you do have any more questions, or aren't clear on something, feel free to ask.

I have a question. Why go with a b16? You want power crazy go with a crvb20 or an h22. Dont say anything about understeer cause my brother in law has one in his ek. Thats a fast freakin car. there is a eg running around here somewhere with a b20 converted to vtec with the b16. I heard it was pulling 12's. I dont understand why you would want that engine when your looking for total speed? I can stay right beside a stock dohc sol in my sohc with my mods and thats not enough for me. I race my friend felix with a 94 civic dx Ls motor swap i/h/e and jesus he is spanking my azz up and down the strip. Last week he went frankhenstein and I have only heard how fast it is. Im not arguing or saying your decisions are wrong, I just want to hear why you chose that engine?

i deicided on the b16 cause it is a straght forward swap. i know that i can get a h22a for not much more money but i heard that it is a bitch to put in the sol. and being as it will be a show car i want it to look nice under the hood. i have never seen a h22 in a sol so it might look good i guess im just ignorant on the topic. i have head about the weight factor tho and plus what cant you by for a b16 nothing. let me know

From what I'm seeing, it seems like money isn't quite the biggest factor in the world, why not swap in a B18C5 instead of the B16? From what I understand its not an incredibly difficult swap and the main reason its avoided is the hefty price tag on the engine.

never really thought about the b18c5 are there alot of perfromance parts out there for it like there B16. im really ignorant about engines i wouldnt mind a diff. engine then the b16 i just want it to look nice and not like it isnt meant to be

if you want to go for a typer engine go for the b16b. it costs about the same as the b18c5, and way more than the b16a..but it will score you a few extra points in the showroom...

ok let me tell you guys what i was thinkin for under the hood so you can tell me what you still think. I want to get everything a light blue chrome or get in plated light blue chrome or painted. that way it will accent the exterior and the interior. I mean every last thing, that is part of the reason i wanted the b16 cause i know that i can find those parts for it. A nother reason is the money factor. I can get a b16b or a b18c5 but cause of the way i have things budgeted for my car right now it will take me awhile to get it all chromed and such. I guess i need to decide if i want an all out show car or not. But here is a question which would get better points do you think. A b16a fully chromed out with everything under the hood all chrome. Or a B16b with with just a normal engine bay with just theothe performance mods???

A clean engine bay will or should yield good points, regardless if there is a lot of chrome or not, but it helps. I have a chrome valve cover, accessories, and a engine block that is painted in high temp. silver paint. Chrome will catch the eyes of the judges, but a very clean engine bay with clean parts with no chrome can do just as good in points. Keeping everything clean will provide good points.

I couldn't begin to think how much it would be. It all depends on the process and how much the company charges. My valve cover was about $220 or so to be chromed, but that was like 6 years ago. I am not sure what the going rate is now. If you mean everything, including the block then I would have to say like $5,000, but that is just a guess.

No problem man. I doubt that I will be at any shows near there, but my friend in South Carolina works on my sol in the winters. It is still there and I plan to drive it back soon to Illinois. Depending on my schedule, I might be able to swing by or something. I might be stopping at another solers house near Clemson, but I am not sure yet.
Honestly, the conversion is not worth it. I was the first person to do the s2k tail conversion on a sol. It was done about 2 years ago. I did it at the hype of tail/headlight swaps, but now it's more of a common thing to see at shows. It was great for awhile, until everybody else started to do it. It lost it's originality, but a lot of people know me for the conversion. Now there are a dozen sols with s2k tails.
The tail lights with the wiring harness were $750 from the dealer. The conversion roughly was about $1500 and the paint job was about $2200. My friend in S.C owns a shop and did all the work to my car. I go to him, because he cuts me deals on labor, so I didn't pay that much.
It was the only mod that I regret doing, but I still really like it. I think I would be happy with just OEM tails or OEM painted tails. Oh, well.

well i guess im not goin to do it then i want to find my own thing any way im opposed to Euro style for the fact that everyone and there grandmother has them, i dont know ill find something. i think that your conversion was worth it but i can see what you mean with losing it after too many people do it Euro tails used to be hot years ago. I like the white over white over red lights but they are startin to get played out. dont know. Do you have any other plans for your car?

sick man just sick. Nice setup. When I got my b16 it was cleaned to factory looks. I prefer the simple setup but that Is some bad azz sh!t. IT also looks like the engine is worth more.

Well, I was going to swap in a b18c5, big brake upgrade, and update the stereo, but someone has offered to buy it. I wasn't looking to sell, the guy emailed me, so he is suppose to buy it at the end of May. I have owned my sol since it was new, so it's been a long journey. I probably have spent close to $40,000 between the price of the car new and all the mods that I have done. I selling for $18,000. I plan to invest the money for awhile and then get a home.

Well, Jen and I have a 2000 Civic Ex, but we plan to pick up a used miata. Jen really wants one and I hope to use it for autoxing. I plan to buy the new Nissan 350z or a used NSX with a targa top, but that's not going to happen for a year or 2, depending on how well the money is invested.
Original owner, 70,000 original miles on a 95 VTEC. Never been a wreck and never driven in the winter (snow) or rain if possible, since the car was redone in 99/00. It's basically a weekend car and show car. When it was repainted all the rubber gaskets were replaced, the timing belt was replaced, oil and general maintence has been done over the years, the front plastic water splash guards were replaced in the wheel wells. I bought the car in Oct. of 95 for 19,890 and I have invested close to $20,000 in mods and labor over the years.
Engine: factory b16a, the engine was removed, cleaned and the block was paint in high temp silver paint. ACT stage 1 clutch, Chrome Valve cover, AEM air intake, DC-Sports 4:1 header, Tanabe G-Power exhaust, Nology ignition wires, Hondasport oil, radiator, steering fluid caps, STR dipstick, DC-Sports battery tie down, and some silver painted accents parts.
Exterior: Full repaint of exterior, door jams, trunk, engine bay, etc. in acura integra supersonic blue mixed with silver pearl. s2k tail light swap, had the Pakfeifer kit from Austria imported into the states, Kaminari hood with scoop, custom made civic lip spoiler, shaved antenna and a Honda Insight antenna was added on top.
Interior: Black and Grey tweed upolstry everywhere except the dashboard. Sparco Torino racing seats, MOMO steering wheel and the cruise control was relocated and is still functional, Honda s2000 starter button, s2000 racing pedals, Injen carbon fiber gauges, carbon fiber dash kit, carbon fiber instrutment panel, carbon fiber shifter knob, carbon fiber emergency brake handle, Alpine CD player, Alpine alarm with pager.
Suspension: All the suspension arms are painted in silver paint, tanabe Sustec Pro Street coilovers, Urethane Bushings, Suspension Techiques Sway bars, DC-Sports upper front, upper and lower back strut bars, Cusco lower front tie bar, camber kit.
Wheels/Tires: SSR GT-1 17's Nitto NT 555 205/40 tires, Powerstop slot rotors, metal matrix pads, steel braided brake lines, painted silver calipars.
