98 Rodeo blown fuse

I have a 98 rodeo v6 that keeps blowing the 10a fuse for the alarm/stereo/dome light/ clock. I have seen several other posts that might suggest this is the alarm module. The rear wiper is working off and on also. I'm pretty good a mechanical items but not so versed in electrical. The dealer seems to think it is a bad ground in the dome light and wants to tear out the headliner and trace it back.
One odd thing is that the clock will briefly come back on even with the fuse removed. Does this sound like a short, or more like the alarm module gone bad. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

a short.

Do you have an after market radio?

It's a factory radio without the cd changer. In my initial testing I had disconnected the radio, but it still blew.

I am having the same problem. the dome light fuse blows every time I put the key in and turn the ignition on (or acc). I have taken apart the dash and see no obvious wire problems. I have disconnected all inside lights, the stereo, clock, and any wiring harnesses connected to the dash and it still blows. This is an old thread but I was really hoping that you might be able to give me somewhere to look for the problem. Any help would be AMAZING! Thanks!
