Hi All!
I need your help please.
I am moving to a new home 30 miles away, and thought a U-Haul trailer would give me the benefit of saving money relative to a truck, and the savings would offset the cost of a trailer hitch and related items for future use for hauling ATV trailer or a light jet boat. When I move, several trips are possible as I can do it on my commute to work, thus a trailer vs a truck seems logical. I have towed trailers before, so I'm not worried about my experience doing it.
I know little about this topic, and would appreciate advice on which class hitch I shoud get, perhaps a brand name, and the related items I will need like the "ball" and "light hookups". I know ebay has good items regularly, but I don't know what I need.
estimated prices would be helpful, like I think $xxx dollars is about the average.
I have a 1999 Rodeo 4x4 S Model, no trailer package, and the spare wheel is mounted on the door.
Thanks in advance, this will be a great help!

there are a lot of online places you can get these, do a Google search for "trailer hitch" if you shop around a little you can get a pretty good price. I think I paid less than $200 for the hitch and harness, but don't get the harness that requires you to splice into your wiring. Buy the "t" type or the one directly from Isuzu(which is more expensive). I bought mine at http://www.hitchfinder.com/

I agree about the online places. Good prices. I installed a class III 'hidden hitch' brand hitch on my SIL's 2003 rodeo in about an hour. I think she ordered it from hitchesonline.com. She got it all quickly & for a good price. Prolly could have gotten away with a class 2 hitch, but for some reason she got a class 3. The hardest part of the install was fishing the mounting hardware through the rear right frame rail. That was kind of a pita, but do-able for an amature like me!

I have a '99 and bought a Draw Tite class III hitch for mine and I was wondering if you or anyone else could help me with the right frame rail install. Where did you fish it through and what did you use? As of now I did not use that bolt because I couldn't figure out how to get it on the inside. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The end of the frame rail should be open so you should be able to get the bolt in through that way. My hitch (Curt Mfg) came with a peice of wire that was coiled on one end. Put the spacer on the carraige bolt, the the bolt into the coiled part of the wire and fish it through from the end to the second hole. It wasnt too hard to do, just took a bit of messing with to get the wire through.
Instructions for mine can be found at http://www.hitchsource.com/docs/cu/13222.pdf if you want to see them. Shows it pretty well what to do. I dont imagine yours is too much different.
