I've got a question for everyone, i have a 94 c1500 gmc with a 5.7. Its 2wd and its a automatic 4l60E. Im able to purchase a 2000 c1500 suburban for cheap and it has a 5.3 v8. Is it possible for me to pull the motor, tranny, and computer out of the suburban and transplant it into my 94 gmc? All advice is appreciated, thanks.

Hi,
the question is: How much energy do you want to put into this?
It sounds like a project to do for the challenge and fun of it.
The 2 vehicles are completely different bodies with different wiring and electronics, a pre-Vortec engine in an Old Body Style and a Vortec engine in a New Body Style. There are a lot of sensors, computers and wiring to contend with.
Is it possible to use the new one instead of trying to fit the electrical system and electronics of a different model generation to the old one?
Take care, Eggert :bananasmi

I agree with Eggert. But I'm definately stubborn enough to swap it all out.
With a little time and effort you can make just about any combination work, it just depends on you, and how much effort you wish to put into this task.
Best of luck with whatever you choose!
