93 Aerostar

I am possibly looking to purchase a 1993 Aerostar XL van, regular length. It only has 69k miles and is a really nice van, especially for $3000. It doesn't even have the usual Ford rot on any of the doors and no rust to be found. My family had an 88 and 95 Ranger and I know the Aerostar is similar to the Ranger.

What should I look for ( or look forward to fixing ;) ) on this van. I plan on using it as a courier vehicle, so I will be putting lots of mileage on it. It is a 3.0 V6 and an automatic. If you can, I 'd like to know average fuel mileage too. (4.0 liter V6 owners chime in too)

I like the Aerostar because 1) it is cheap and this one is in very nice shape. 2) It is truck based, which I figure takes a better beating then a unibody minivan ( although I have not ruled them out) 3) I will only buy Ford trucks, so the Chevy Astro/ GMC Safari are out of the question.

I am considering the AWD version too, so let me know thoughts on that. I hate to let this 93 slip away because it is so nice and has low miles. But if it does, I'd like to have other options.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Update: I bought the van.
