This was originally to be another entry in the BMOM contest (Along with the R5 Turbo), but work precluded me from being far enough along to make it feasible to finish.
It's going to be a low-budget conversion, like a couple of guys would build in the driveway on weekends. So far I have removed the rear seat and drawn up the roll cage, and the following is planned:
- Remove the spare tire and gas tank 'humps' from the chassis plate.
- Make new racing shocks/struts.
- Lift the suspension for tire clearance.
- Extended shifter and repositioned hand brake.
- Add a new air intake for the engine, and possibly a turbo charger from the AMT Dodge Ram 50 if I can figure out the plumbing.
- Fill the sun-roof lines, and decide if I want to add the included frander flares.
- Add spare brakes from a street Evo VI kit, resin copies of wheels/tires from a Revell AG Quattro, a fuel cell from a kit TBD, steering wheel from a kit TBD, the extra seats from the R-M Focus SVT, Tamiya driver and co-driver figures, and probably some copies of lights from one of a couple rally kits.
I have a pretty interesting paint scheme in mind, but I'll need to print my own decals for it.
I hope to get some more done in the next few weeks, once the Renault is done.

Yeah, a lot like that. I'm also planning to do the same with a Civic hatch, and possibly a Focus SVT.
Your buddy rallies in NY? Can you give me his email? I'd like to get into it myself but know nothing about the regional rally scene.

Hey,
The guy I know is the mechaic, not the owner. But I will talk to him b/c he also drives in the rallies. A civic rally car? There was one of them also. I'll find the pics. civic rally car (http://gallery.onalimbracing.com/2003lunareclipse/IMG_1283) Check out the rest of the sets on that site. They covered most of the scca rallies in the US for the last few years.
