the message center would not work correctly. And now i do not have a buzzer working and no sound from the radio. I am thinking that there is something wrong with the radio.

The best way to replace the stock radio is to relocate elswhere in the car and keep it hooked up. You'll want to purchase a couple of items from a car audio retailer that carries Metra brand installation kits. You will need a 99-3302, which is a really cool piece that holds your new radio in the factory radio opening. This kit looks great and gives you a pocket underneath the radio to hold CD cases, remotes, etc. There is also a wiring harness (70-2003T) you will need to get to be able to reset the oil life monitor, tire pressure monitor, and change all of your light delays settings that you access through the factory radio. This harness makes it so you dont have to cut any of the factory wires in the dash, but you have to use the included 17 ft cable to but the factory radio somewhere else in the car (mine is in the backseat). The last piece you will need is a SP-2003, which is a replacement door chime speaker that plugs into the harness (since the door chime currently plays through the factory radio/speakers). MSRP on these items: $17, $40 and $15.
