Hi I am a new WS owner bought it used its a '95 anyway i would like to fix the following:
power locks
none of the power locks work
checked fuses under dash all good, checked switch got power at the under side of the switch ???
rear wiper
fuses good, switch works for the windshield washer fluid, no wiper action???
power vent
fuses good but havent gone to far on that yet (Laughing out loud) still winter here not needed yet
talked to one guy and he said it is the switchfor the locks, talked to another guy and he said it sounds like its the GEM
What i would like to know is if it was the gem for example would i not have power to my windows (they work fine)or should i start pulling fuses under the hood??? as for the rear wiper i am leaning towards a new motor for that going to check out the motor and arm for old grease build up power vent well when it warms up i'll check that out too.
unless any one out there can tell me if this is all a related problem through the gem between the three problems the only fuses they share are
locks #3,#37 (dash), letter K, J (under hood)
wiper #3, #24 (dash) letter K, D (under hood)
Vent #6 (dash) letter D (under hood)
Help please

Out of all the fords I have had being 3 most of my problems was either the switch or motor/ actuator. run a test between your door switch to window motor and to your door lock switch to your actuator. All of mine had one or the other but the last to were under warranty so they replaced one switch for the window and one actuator for a lock. My van now has both passenger side windows that dont work and my keyless entry unlocks my back doors all the time but sometimes my front. its a pain sometimes. I think my problems with the actuator for my locks.have not worked on my windows yet as my list keeps growing. But my wife Loves it still. :screwy:

hi thanks for replying to my post
Are the actuators hard to get at?? can you give me an idea where they are located inside the door panel. I will definatelly test this little bugger, is this the same thing that some people are calling a soliniod? Which would be better to test with a test bulb or the ohms tester??

Yes they are hard to get at from what I hear. I had not try it on mine yet .One of the list of things to do. Use the search help and see what you can find puch in" door locks" or "door panel removal" ..
I did find this off of search. scroll down to ford windstar may not be your year but an idea...
