hey all
Me and my bro were sitting here debating what we pulled off the web the other day.
It was a buick Regal/GN? that was pushing 1100 HP on a dyno.
I say it's the turbo v6 w/twin turbo, he swears it's a v8 because of the loping of the engine and the sound.
so IS IT possible to achieve that w/a GN/regal v6 twin turbo?

The car you saw was probably Chris Chows twin turbo V-8 Grand National. I don't know why he ruined it with a V-8 but 1,000hp is 1,000hp. But,yes, it is very possible to have a V-6 with WELL over 1,000 hp. I think the new aluminum V-6 blocks are said to handle 2,000hp. :naughty:

There are three examples of cars that are single turbo, and pushing over 1,000 HP. The first car holds the record for the fastest and quickest car in it's class. The last car is over 1,000 HP on a stock block :iceslolan
Tell you buddy to think outside the box for once in his life, There are carburated Buick v-6's that ran in the NASCAR Grand national series races that made 575+ HP with no turbo, nitrouis, supercarger, fuel injection.

~SYes, it's very possible with the correct chip and the twin turbo

The big difference with Chris Chows car is his car is quite streetable where as the cars that could beat him with V6s are full race cars that live on a trailor. Can't beat cubes when it comes to streetability and power. If that were not the case, all of the really fast V6s wouldn't be running Stage II engines. I had a 10 sec turbocharged 99 GT that ran 10s on straight pump gas. That is basically unheard of in the TR community unless they were using ALky as well. Hell, if I used alky, I might have gone in the 9s. Anyway, I have recent videos of Chris Chows car with new turbos and it's running 8.00s @ 175 mph.
