Should I Buy It

I found a 1986 Merkur, the owner said he has replaced it with a new tranny, and the engine and turbo are new also, he took them from a turbo t-bird, the car is selling for $700 and only has a few problems, it needs a new speedo and tachometer gauges and needs a new cat, and trunk latch, on the drivers side rear fender it has a pretty big dent. The owner took me for a test drive and the turbo was spooling pretty hard and it was pretty loud, he said it needs and Blow off Valve, and he said the turbo is overboosting, is that really bad on the car or is that fine for now, until I find a way to get it fixed, and what would be the best way to stop the overboost.! I own a Isuzu Impulse but it needs a new tranny and I don't feel like messing with it, so should I keep the isuzu and install the tranny or get the merkur and fix it up.

To your initial question "should I buy it" my anwser is No. Sounds like he ran it hard and you could find another Merkur for the same price in much better condition.
