Go to helminc.com and order the factory service manual for full instructions. Disconnect battery ground cable
Drain cooling system and remove upper radiator hose, fan and shroud
Disconnect fuel lines
Remove windshield wiper governor and support bracket
Recover a/c system and disconnect outlet hose at compressor. Then remove bolt retaining hose to coil bracket.
Remove fuel charging wire 42 pin connector from power brake booster and then disconnect the 42 and 8 pin connectors.
Remove all hoses to the EGR valve and the EGR back pressure transducer.
Remove EGR valve and tube to exhaust manifold.
Remove the bolts that retain the heater hose to the cylinder head and disconnect the heater hose.
Drain oil
Disconnect the exhaust system at the manifolds.
Loosen but don't remove the two nuts on the transmission insulator.
Remove the engine support insulator through bolts on both sides. (2 on left side and 1 on right side)
Place a jack and block of wood under the oil pan in back of the drain plug and jack up engine about 4 inches.
Place a 2.5-2.75 inch thick block of wood under both engine support insulators and lower engine onto them.
Jack up the transmission extension housing slightly to remove the oil pan.
Remove oil pan bolts and then the pan.
You may have to remove the 2 bolts holding the pick up tube to the oil pump and the 1 bolt holding the tube to the main bearing stud spacer.
That's all there is to it!!!! These instructions are for a 97 but should be a good guide to a 94. As I said, buy the service manual at helminc.com for full details on your year Bird. GOOD LUCK!
