Hmm ive been thinking about this. I believe its easier to import an FTO to canada considering the car laws are less strict (heard there ewre like 4 lol). If you were to import it to canada THEN bring it from canada to the states i think its easier to pass off. I heard from a few people that its easier to register a car from canada then one from japan.

actually vehicle laws in canada are more strict than the US. For example Motorex cannot import skylines to canada. The only way you could get an FTO is to bring one from Europe to the Bahamas and then put the FTO on a small boat and smuggle it into the US and then buy another Mitsubishi coupe (3000GT or Eclipse) and use the plates off it on the FTO and hope you never get pulled over.

This is the oldest ploy of importers and if anyone tries to sell you this rubbish then laugh in their face. :screwy:
Unfortunately importing from Canada into the U.S. means you have to go through 2 totally different importation regulatory groups. One for import to Canada and another for US, instead of 1 for just the U.S. :eek7:
The reality is you're going to have to do some serious research and cash to get one into the U.S. yourself... or hope that someone else does.
I don't think it's going to happen.

try reading some of the earlier posts on importing the FTO into the US, and basically it goes down like this either convince the DOT that the FTO can pass a crash test without actually crashing it (most likely impossible) or buy 3 FTOs and wreck two of them for the DOT to make them happy and your car road legal.

it is possible to get any JDM RHD car into the states...may not be the "legal" method, but you can still get rhd's into the usa.
i have owned 2 JDM cars, currently have 1, and i'm looking to get either an FTO or EVO IV as my next one...
you just have to know the right people who import them.
