OK all please dont attack me for this posting. I have a 99 G20t, titanium silver. Im just starting my process of hooking up my car, and im trying to leanr more about upgrading my audio. The stock sysytem is ok for now, but theres times that I realize that its not very crisp and I fell like it doesnt fill the car well (surround sound). Now from the pics that Ive seen of peoples sound sytems, with big ass speakers in the back, plexiglass, custom boxes, cutting half the size of your trunk- Im not knocking it at all, cause it looks tight and im sure it kicks ass- but for me personally I dont need all that I want it to bump but dont need people to hear it clearly from like a block away. I want to just have crsip surround sound, and of course loud enough that distortion doesnt occur when i want to play it loud when im hanging outside of my car maybe cleaning it, or just :bandit: - either way can someone suggest what route to take for this kinda system, whats the cost like? and is it necessary to change the radio or just the speakers ( I read somewhere else that putting in new speakers might not be enough) Also will my stock 5 cd changer be compatable with a new system? Any suggestions will help. Thanks and nuff respect to those that go all out.

Well I can't say much about changing the whole system but I just put in an Infinity Basslink, which is basicly just a 10" sub with a passive radiator in a .75 cu ft box with a class d 200w amp. It was very easy to install dosn't take up much room at all and for my taste sounds very good all for around $250 (you can get them on ebay for less). When I was looking for an upgrade to my system all I wanted to get was a little more bass, not so much that it feels like someone is kicking you in the back of the head, but just enough to make the system sound more full. I think the basslink do's a good job at the volume I like but might not be enough for some, also if you get one try to install it facing the side of your trunk it sounds much better in that position.

I had it installed professionaly but I found out he screwed it up so I actualy rewired it yesterday to fix his mistakes. The install is very very easy all you have to do is get a power and ground cable and use the high level inputs and the connecters they provide with the sub, just run the power cable straight from the battery through a grommet on the passanger side, it's way down low so you have to realy look for it, then tuck the cable under the door trim on the floor and behind the back seat into the trunk and either drill a whole to ground it or just use one of the bolts on your strut towers in the back. Take the line input connecters that they provide and wire it up to any speaker wires that are not amplified, that is where the other guy messed up he wired it after the stock bose amp and it sounded like shit, I found that the wires going to the speakers have a white stripe on them so I took a wild guess and spliced into a pair that was a solid color which turned out to be my front right speaker before the amp so it worked out fine. Thats it for the install the only other suggestion I have is try and face the speaker towards the side of the trunk it sounds a little better that way.
Here is a link to the place where I bought it but I think you can get it off of ebay for cheaper, but if you don't trust ebay then just email these guys with the cheapest price you can find and they will match it.

Hope that helps.
