Anyone in here done their own clutch and transmission replacement? I got a 91 Trooper and it would be my first clutch kit and tranny install.

91 TrooperII, V6, 2.8, 5-sp., 4WD

I don't have a factory manual but am going to be getting one.

Any tips?

My dad keeps telling me I can figure it out myself. Just get a factory manual he tells me.

I am in the middle of installing a new clutch in a "86 T-II 4x4. 4 Cly.
You will need a Chilton/Haynes manual for sure..if only for sequence.
Factory manuals are expensive..usually not needed if you are very experienced and/or mechanically minded.
Some models want you to pull the engine..others to pull the Tranny.
The 4x tranny in VERY heavy..not like the tranny in a PUP 2 wheel drive.
You can do it by yourself if you have access to all the right tools..ie. engine lift or tranny jack..(I used two floor jacks to lift my trans back into place.) If you can get help..it's a lot easier..4hands..2 heads..etc.
It's not easy..but you can do it w/ time and patience.
