How about some TV???

Is there a TV show for car modelers? If not I definitely think some of you advanced modelers in here should get together and see what can happen. Fill it with things like new kit news, demos, finished work, even set up and travel to different clubs or model events. I personally think it would be awesome. Is there any possibilty in this??? What do you people think?

I only know of a video that was made some years back, it featured a build up of a Tamiya DTM Merc.

There was one on PBS, but that was YEARS APON YEARS ago, IIRC, the guy who hosted it rarely did cars, mostly military and planes

You must be thinking of Adventures in Scale Modeling, on PBS in the early 90s. The original host was Mike Lech, and they had guest modelers each week, but for some episodes, the guest modelers were the hosts.

They did do a fair number of cars: They opened the door on an F-150, built a 1/43 resin Mazda LeMans racer, a 1/12th scale motorcycle, and one or two others I can think of off the top of my head. They did pretty much everything: Ships, planes, houses, even scenery like a volcano (The ugliest real-life volcano ever, so flat little mound). I think I still have the Mazda episode someplace.

I saw Mike Lech at the Syracuse model train show this past November. He was manning a booth for some product, not sure what as I didn't get a chance to go over.

PS: Model train shows are great places to get tools: Ours has tons of vendors selling pretty much everything you could want, and some stuff you didn't know existed but you now must have LOL. One year I got a set of needle files, #61-80 drill bits, three pin vices, and about 40-odd diamond rotary tool bits, all in one pack for under $20. It was all the same stuff you see on Micro Mark, just bundled together. All generic, but it works well enough, especially the files and drill bits.
