I have only had my olds for 1 month. A couple of weeks ago the car stalled while driving twice. It took a couple of time to get it started but it did. A few days later, I shut it off while I ran into the store, came back out and it wouldn't start for about 10 minutes. Now last night it wouldn't start and I still haven't gotten it started yet. (16 hours later). I turn the key on and all it will do is turn over. I have not checked to see if there is spark yet because I am not exactlly sure how to do that. Can anyone help me with that? I am thinking that maybe it is the fuel pump or could it be something else? Can anyone help me please????

it could possible be the fuel filter is clogged
or you need to replace your spark plugs or many other things but those are the two most common

if your fuel filter is clogged its not giving much gas to the engine keeping it from starting and such. also that would account to why it stalled because it wasnt letting enough gas through

Thanks for the input. I will have to give that a try.

Well the fuel filter and pump was good and I have spark. I found 2 wires disconnected and hanging. One was to the air cleaner. The other is to the cruise control unit. I connected both and now the car starts but still stalls. I have found that I have to disconnect the wires from the cruise and reconnect it then it will start. My cruise control does not work and I really don't care if I have it, is there any way of bypassing this so I don't have to go under the hood and mess with these wires all of the time?

what? Is is probably something else near the tb that is acting up like the IAC or TPS or MAF connections that maybe you are bumping.

what type of miles r on the vehicle? i have the same vehicle used to have the same/similar symptoms. it was the crank position sensor,it was getting hot after driving and shorting out. i put it on myself and it was not expensive either ,it never shut off again
