Handling decals?

Sure it has come up before but I couldn't find.

Don't know if there are different types but I just have a standard revell set with those decals that come loose when you put water on them. The problem I'm having is moving them from their surface to the model without making them curl up or when they are long part of it gets cut off.

Any advice on how to slide them onto the model without messing them up would be nice thak you.

Dont take the off the paper untill you are ready to put them on the model. Take the decal over to the model and slide the decal off the backing and straight onto the model

Sometimes when they curl, decalsolvent will calm them down. Use a clean flat brush.

my best tip that I missed out on when building my first models is to use rather hot water. I didn't know the word "tepid" and used cold tap water. Not a good idea as the warm water makes the decals more conformable to the underlying surface.

Also a little liquid soap in that warm water makes them a bit "softer" and more easy to move in right position. Do not just put some water on them but let them soak in water for a short period I alway put them in the water face down and let them stay on surfice, that way you can see the paper change the colour as water soak in it.
