our tire pressure warning light is on on our console, but there appears to be nothing wrong with the tires. we don't have a manual. anybody know how to reset this? we have a 02 windstar sport. thanks

Tire pressure is read in one of two ways, first by an in tire sensor that actually reads the tire pressure, or by your ABS wheel speed sensors. Tire pressures with as little as 2-4 pounds of pressure difference can cause the light to go on, I would suspect this might be the case. If not I beleive the windsatrs tire pressure is read by the ABS wheel speed sensors and that you may have a problem with one of them not reading right. Hope this helps.

thanks for your response. we have managed to get the light off. we have a reset button that wasn't working even after putting air in all 4 tires. however we managed to get it off by holding in the button while starting the van.

On the windstar odometer and tripometer digital displays if you push it in once you go to trip, once again you will see "tire reset" come across the display. just hold it in for a few seconds to reset the tire pressure sensing. (only after you have aired the tires up to the psi you want) or the tire pressure light will come on again. The tire pressure light will also come on after so many miles to let you know to rotate the tires. Hope this helps. You may want to check ebay for an owners manual, they have them for a pretty decent price.
