heater helpppppppppp!!!

i have tried everything and cant get the heater to put out hot air on my 91 cav. 4 cylinder.
air comes out warm at best.
what am i missing?????

Have you tried seing if there is good flow through the heater matrix?

thats about the only thing i havent done is pull the heater hoses and check the flow was just wondering if there might be something else i have missed

I find that on me 2000 cavalier that when i have it on window defrost...it only blows warm air...when i switch it to vents it comes out hot..?

Either it's not warm yet or the heater core is half clogged.
Melissa2000: notice when you switch to Defrost the AC light comes on?

This doesn't cool the air what it does is get the a/c compressor spinning and dries tha air so it clears quicker! It should even say that in your owners manual. It may not actually be only warm but it may be that it feels so due to the windshiled being cold! I leave mine on the w/shield/floor split unless I need to clear the windshield quick. This was the car should get nice and toasty. At -20 I only have it a half heat on #3 (my blower resistor only let me have 3 &4 until I fixed it today with a new resistor. Back to all four!!!!
