transmission

I have a 95 windstar trans runs fine when cold when warms up when slowing down trans doesnt want to down shift if i go to a full stop its ok will shift fine.when i slow down i give it gas and the rpm go way up but will not shift help please

1995 was the most troublesome year for the transmision. They used a soft metal for a part...that did not hold up. They fixed that problem by '96. Although the tranny is a weak point in the windstar. But, have faith, pretty much ALL brands of minivans have tranny issues.
The first (and cheapest) thing I would do is investigate the level and condition of your fluid. It MUST be changed every 30K miles for normal service.... 21K miles for "severe" service. If you can have the fluid analyzed, Blackstone Labs will do it for about $20 (US), it would be a good way to see the condition of the tranny. They have a website.
Your tranny will need Mercon fluid....Do not use Mercon V as it is not backward compatible.
Make sure that it is at the correct level. If it is low...look to see if there is a leak.

That would cover the cheap approach.
