Does anyone know why the cartrackers.com Windstar forum has no posts later than August? Has it stopped being maintained?
The cartrackers.com forum had alot of info in old posts concerning the replacement of the timing chain cover gasket. Does anyone know how to get to those old posts or has any of this info been repeated on this forum?
Thanks in advance,

I did read a post on THIS forum where someone had done this without removing the engine....they did it by raising the passenger side of the engine about 4-5 inches. You have to do this in order to remove the water pump (clearing the water pump pulley past the side frame member).
The "official" instructions are to remove the engine from the car.
It is still a LOT of work.....as the person posted. The instructions that I have read (I have not done this) say to drop the oil pan also...in order to remove the front cover (another name for timing chain cover).
I have had a SMALL seepage from mine....and have used a "stopleak" type product in the coolant to correct this leak.
More information from people who have actually done this would be helpful for you....and others...as this is a common failure on Windstar 3.8L.

Thanks Wiswind. I appreciate your help. I think I'll start a new thread with a more specific subject line to address this issue.
