Just wondering what would you rather choose?
I vote pistons, just like them more...

Give me an engine with pistons. They are more efficient and have more torque.

Yeah. Pistons are just more proven. Rotors have their place, but as far as street reliability, pistons all the way.

Just give me an engine, any engine.
As long as its the right engine in the right chassis I don't care if it goes up and down or round and round.

Rotors are surprisingly popular where I live. I reckon the rotary engine would make an excellent platform for hydrogen combustion provided of course the apex seals could handle it (You definitely wouldn’t want it back firing. BOOM! :evillol: )
The rotary is a clever concept in that it can deliver quite a bit of power for very little weight and surface area.
Still my vote goes to piston engines as they are at present more well established and more is known about them.

I'm going to vote for the piston engine on this one. It is cool how a 1.3L rotory engine makes, what, 225 hp? That equals with the 5.0 mustang, but the 5.0 also has double the torque of the rotory.

In cars, 225 hp from a 1.3L isnt something you hear about. Hondas and cars with that size, up to 2.0L, dont even get that much power most of the time.

The only time you see 225 hp from a 1.3L would be in the motorcycle world. Like a 1.1L kawasaki ninja makes 190 hp. Guess what though, they're piston engines and not rotorys.

I might be wrong, i dont know crap about rotary engines but i thought i remember reading about people having to rebuild them about every 100k miles. Sure thats not exactly like having to rebuild them every other week but still that seems a little short for HAVING to rebuild.

the FD rotaries infamous 90k mile rule!!! all the other rx7's last much longer though...so thats not all rotaries, just 1...

and to answer the poll, ill still take the pistons until rotaries starts delivering more practicality...but that doesnt mean i wont buy a FC3S one of these days. :naughty:

I like both. I wouldn't mind restoring an REPU one day.
