How do I remove the rear seat cushion?
I want to replace the battery but cannot find out how to remove the rear seat cushion.
Do I have to access it from the trunk?
What tools do I need?
Is there a switch or something?
I am totally lost and just want to find out how to access the battery.
The car is a 92 BMW 740i.
Thanks

One thing you may have to do is get the radio code which will allow the radio to work once the power is removed. Bring your VIN to the dealer and request it.
The seatback should lift up and off the bottoms may be screwed down after removing the back. That is usually how cars are. Try that.

I wondered about this same thing in my '93 740i. Just give one corner of the bottom seat cushion a good tug upward. It will release from the spring catch. Then move to the other side. The loosened cushion then will pull forward so that you can pull it out of one of the rear doors.
If you replace the battery, do not forget to connect a vent kit to the new battery. Mine came with a little rubber hose. This hose pushes through a small hole in the floor. These kinds of little details are everywhere on these cars.
Good luck...
