94 Z28 vs 95 Z28

I don't know why, but this really irritates me. I also am sorry for the repeat of certain questions already posted on this board, but lets just say I need clarification. A friend at work has a 95 Z28. He claims he is putting out around 285-290 hp at the wheels, but he only has 1 mod. He wouldn't tell me what it is, but its nothing big at all. He also says his 95 Z28 is a little faster than my 94 stock for stock. But there is no difference between the 94s and 95s, right? So... is the 275 hp rating for the 94-95 LT1 at the wheels or fly? And stock for stock, his car wouldn't be faster than mine? (I think his mod is a chip, not sure though)

The 94 and 95 both have the same HP rating of 275hp at the crank. But Chevy always puts low numbers down on their HP ratings. I mean hell the 1999 Camaro Z28 was rated at 305hp at the crank and put 300 at the rear wheels! Awefully efficient drivetrain I must say.

according to stats the 95 is a little bit faster, im not sure why since from what i understand they had the same parts but it could be some very minor changes... 1994 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 6.2 (0-60) 14.5 1/4
1995 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 5.7 (0-60( 14.2 1/4
1995 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 5.7 (0-60( 14.2 1/4

different technology , year for year. Just think of it as probably a weight difference in the parts structure and build. It may use the same parts but maybe they used a different between steel and aluminum parts somewhere along the line , enough to free up some accel or something , who knows.

man i dont know where you got them numbers from but 94 and 95 are the same, 94 does 0-60 in 5.7, and 1/4 in 14.2

Thanks for the input. I did some reading and found out that the 95's that were made in California got dual cats good for about 10 hp. I thought the 96's and up had the dual cats. So, it is possible that my friend is putting out 185 rwhp (with mod)? I assumed 240 rwhp stock.
FYI, I found someone's dyno sheet on the net, I believe it was an 00 Z28, LS1 with High flow air lid, cat back, and something else, and it was only registering 281 rwhp. Still a little confused.

those were kinda rare, yes the ls1's have power out the ass, but there were a few that came from the factory as "monsters" (they called them) is was said that some of the tech's at GM modded some of the camaros at the factory (computer mods and what-not). the average ls1 camaro had about 260rwhp, the "monsters" actually got up to 320rwhp (no joke).

your freind is a retard at best. If you can out drive him, your car would beat him. Sounds like to me, yall have the EXACT same car, (motor/tranny) he just has a cold air, or some gears or some sort of simple cheap bolt on. get him out of the hole, and you'll probly beat him!
