Im looking to purchase one of the two but cant decide on which one.
driving both and they are amazing machines.

The Z just happens to be my daily driver... and it just happens to be fairly quick... nothing special really. :p

It depends. The STi is faster, but everyone I've talked to who has wheel time on booth says the EVO is a bitmore fun to drive.

None are close to "king of the street" in my opinion. Good cars, but there is much better out there.

The dynos I've seen for '05 are spookingly similair between the 2 cars. Both the 2.0L in the Evo and the 2.5L in the STi put down approximetly 235awhp-245awhp depending on the type of dyno. I've seen Evos at 245 and I've seen an STi put down 235 and vice versa.

If by faster you mean top speed...who knows...both cars will do 150mph although the STi is governed I believe. Who the hec would ever go that fast anyways. Maybe if you drive the autobahn to work everyday, but it's not a big deal to me.

If by faster you mean 0-60mph, the Evo is quicker by a slim margin because it only takes 1 shift to get there. The STi maxes out 2nd gear at 57mph. 1/4 mile times are extremely similair too, but it takes the STi another shift to get to 1320ft.

If you plan to mod the engine, the 4g63 in the Evo is the far better platform. The 2.5L turbo in the STi is only found in the USDM STi. The rest of the world had the 2.0L turbo...which WRC mandates to be the most displacement allowed in competition. The turbo in the STi is also pretty much maxed out from the factory at 14-15psi while the twin scroll 16G in the Evo can safely hold 25lbs.

Your vr4 with "bigger turbos, better intercooler piping, exhaust, downpipe, headers, exhause manifold with direct port NOS injection, standalone fuel management system, chip... etc." is the REAL KING OF THE STREETS

I did those upgrades on my car and got into some internals, with 12lbs. of boost Im hitting low 11's at about 110 mph. If I turn up the boost I can slip into high 10's but Your risking block damage which can be costly on a VR-4.

Now what exact chip do you have...what turbos do you have that allow you to be one of the fastest vr4s in the world yet you only have to boost a 1/3 of what the other guys are doing, and are trapping 20mph slower than they are?

Why do you need any other car at all, when you already have a 3000gt, an rx-7, and a 240sx...wont your memory card get a bit crowded with an additional evo8 or sti???

The only reason my vr4 runs those times is cause it has been striped of anything that can ever be called car comfort......Is just like a drag car, the less weight you have the better and I over did it with that one Is not even street legal anymore and thats y I need something new, Although I am a big fan of the ps2 this garage isnt in no game is real
