I just bought a 2000 SE and noticed a sort of knock when I am stopped at a light or what have you. IT doesnt really do it in park and doesnt do it while driving. Seems to only do it while stopped. It doesnt do it everytime. And clues?? Doesnt sound to me like an engine knock.

Probably baffles in upper intake. Read some of the other posts in around here about this problem. aka RTV fix or so they may say.

Dont throw trash if you dont want it back in your yard. People come here for help not smart remarks or "puns". I came for info about a knock and if you didnt know shouldnt comment.

Good area.. I had to have the WHOLE upper intake replaced. No more annoying knock. Who would have thought they would use plastice on an important part?

Mine did that for a while and I cleaned out the intake and it has not done it since .you can when it is doing it to see if that is your problem is to grab the intake and pull toward you or push down on it. if it stops or chances it most likley where its comming from. If you go to the tsb report it tells you about it a few parts to replace. I think that is what i am going to do because if you let it go other problems start. But over all my intake is fine but the vaccum problem is what i am concerned with . My obd reading tells me my o2 sensors are bad and it all related to the TSB report. Intake,Valve cover, Vacuum lines.Intake and isolator bolts. Sound fun dont it...Gary

Mine started as a small knock that would happen once in a while. The is became really loud. Like a little ford demon was in there trying to get out..lol
The upper intake had to be replaced due to parts that were broken. Why do they use Plastic anyway?? Weird
