We just bought the neatest little Sebring Convertible for our granddaughter. She loves it. But...
After 2 hours of night driving (lights on) her battery light comes on.
The dealer claims it is working right. We later found, the car came in with the battery light on and dealer replaced the battery. Guess they thought that would fix it but it didn't.
O'Reilly's told her a diode is bad. so now dealer is having it rebuilt.
Is this a known problem with the car? Has anyone experience with the battery light and what else might be causing it to light?
thanks,
Jeanne

This problem could be related to the battery charging circurity. Go to Advance auto or any auto parts store that offers a free test of the battery charging system. This will tell you if the systems is working properly. Good luck.

Yeah, I'm sure it is. They found a bad diode. But, it is now rebuilt and she got home with it this time with no battery light coming on. :-)
This is good.
I was worrying that perhaps it was an electronic chip that controlled the alternator and that just rebuilding it wouldn't actually fix the problem. We hope it is really fixed now. Thanks
