Air tank

A friend of mine has an airbrush compressor (I think it is a badger 80-2 or a paasche d500) and I was wondering if it is possible to take a 7-10 gallon air tank and fill using the airbrush compressor.
Do you think it would work? How long should it take to do so?
Thanks

yes it should work, but you will need an air regulator and probably a moisture trap. I used that before getting a real compressor.

7-10 gallon should last a while ! (2gal is fine for a body + all the cleaning after)

Airbrush compressors are only rated up to a point where most airbrushes require. I don't think a d500 will push more than 30psi. 30 psi in a tank won't last you very long, whether it's 7 or 70 gallons. You could keep the pump running to keep the tank full but that defeats the purpose.

You're better off buying the right fittings and filling the tank at a gas station. You could also just use the D500 the way it was meant to be; nothing wrong with that.

I had a cheap compressor for tires. cost 7$ and it was able to fill a 4Gal tank with 90psi.

ABCGRAPHIXS...
yeah the D500 will only push 28psi and cant fill a tank to its limit which is why i told you in the PM that i fill my 5 gallon at a gas station. what i failed to tell you is that you need to fit your tank with a Shreider valve. like on bike tires or car tires. about $10 or so. sorry i forgot this!?!

Nope, it wont work. It will ruin the compressor too.
