Hilux on hand, more lift wanted...

Hey,
Seeing willimo's hilux thread, I wanted to start working on my own version. The kit alone is perfect, but I have already build the surf and 4 dr hilux lift-up(also 2 great kits). But, for my nexy hilux, I think it needs more lift. I am going to use lifting blocks and such to give it a bigger suspension and frame lift. But I am really puzzled as to what wheels I should use to make it bigger. (btw monster truck tires are out of the question, not looking for that much lift) I have some tractor trailer tires, but they don't really have 4x4 tread on them. I also have a junk unimog kit that might be sparing its axles for the hilux. So if anyone has any ideas, feel free to post.
Cliffs:More lift wanted for 2dr lift up hilux. Will do body n suspension lift on top of kit lift. Super swampers not enough. Monster truck tires too much. What to do....what to do...
This kit-> http://www.hlj.com/scripts/hljpage.cgi?AOS03459
Thanks,
Frank X.

On my last Hilux, I used the rims and tires (they are sort of integrated) from Tamiya's 1:32 motorized Wild Willys Jeep. They are only as tall as the Aoshima's Swampers, but they are 1.5x the width. Otherwise, there's not much else out there that I know of. Check the toys at Wallyworld, you might find what you're looking for on a cheap diecast.

Dont know if these tires are even big enough for what you had in mind, but it opens more options for you. You can use the rims and tires from the Revell "Mad Mudder" kit. They are a bit larger and wider than the Raguna D-Force Citation Wheels from Aoshima.
Tire height and width:
39.16mm x 13.98mm D-Force
42.08mm x 16.78mm Mad Mudder
but IMO the rims from the D-Force look alot better. Thats why im going with this combo for my lifted silverado. I used the D-Force Rims with Mad Mudder tires. Theyre a bit loose but its a quick fix.

hehe, ive got 2 Mad Mudders also, and the rims and tires have also been appointed to lifting other kits, both of mine being Silverado's (unless someone comes out with different trucks to lift). Sorry I couldnt help you, Ill keep my eyes peeled for both of us. LMK if you find anything.

Hey,
I think I might settle for the tires from my junker unimog kit. They are a few more scale inches in diameter then the super swampers. I was planning on using them for a kodiak truck on the mog chassis...but...who knows now...
Thanks,
Frank X.
