Hey I'm looking to find an SUV that has decent gas mileage and is also a fun ride...I've looked at Yukon/Tahoes, Jeep Grand Cheerokees, and Ford Explorers. Which do you think would be my best choice overall...or any other ideas?

He's indeed right.
If you want a good SUV with reasonable gas milage then get a Volkswagen Touareg V10 TDi, that's if the TDi is available in the US.

I'd love to get a Touraeg, but I forgot to mention that I have about a $8,000-10,000 price range...I drive a Toyota T-100, so im used to about 15-16MPG, just wanna switch to an SUV.

regular Cherokee (grand was too heavy), 4 Runner, and most Isuzus aren't too bad.

the ford escape now comes in hybrid form so if you're looking for an SUV with "good" gas mileage, that'd be your best option. although i wouldn't brag to your friends about it. :p
forget about any full size SUV like the yukon if you want good gas mileage. you should look into compacts like the escape, cr-v or tribute. even mid-size ones like explorers or blazers can get rather poor mileage.
