When I bought my X5 3.0, I shopped between the Lexus RX300, Mercedes M55. I chose the X5, it’s a Great car, I have no regrets (except maybe not going with the 4.4). But now there seem to be a few other options to consider, like the Porsche Cayenne, the Volkswagen Touareg, and Volvo XC90. Does anyone have any input on how these new options play out in the battle of The Luxury SUVs? Any input would be great.
Thanks

From what Ive seen the porche (expecicaly the turbo'ed one) blows everything out of the water. Its suppoustly the fastest S U/A V and the only other one that can keep up with it is some turbo'ed subaru.

The Cayenne is only better from an acceleration perspective. It's still a SUV and a poor one at that.

Honestly, why do people expect a pig mobile to be a sports car? The reason that should make you need a SUV over a real sports sedan or coupe are the very reasons why the Cayenne doesn't deliver. It only seats 5, doesn't carry any more cargo than a large sedan, etc.

Also, the Cayenne Turbo is a monster when it comes to acceleration considering its weight but NA V8 version (Cayenne S) pulls nicely but not really demonstrably faster than the BMW X5 V8, Volvo XC90 V8, Infiniti FX45, etc.

Well personally your a fool to pay 80grand for a SUV anyway. Not matter how great its suppousted to be. You can get a 745li for the same price with all the options.
