98 Ford Taurus 3.0 Vulcan v6- stuck in neutral..
Ok heres the scoop, i turned the corner, then proceeded to make a u-turn and the car locked its steering column and the brakes.. Waited about 6 min then was able to put shift back in park, then restarted car.
Now the car is stuck in neutral and the key is stuck in the ignation. I can move the shift from neutal to drive, od ,and 1. but iam unable to go past reverse to park... and the brake pedal seems to be stuckor stiff...the brake lights are on. the car will not start in neutral.
please help any advice would be greatly helpful.

not really sure about your problem, but there is a switch so that you cant change the shifter unless you have your foot on the brake. maybe that switch needs looking at! look to see if something is broke around your brake pedal, maybe somethings binding up your pedal and making your lights stay on!

It seems that the shift gear is stuck in 1st. but can move to d, od, and n. but i am unable to get the shift to park to remove the key. the car will not start in whatever gear it is stuck in. Did i strip something from the steering column?
