hi, please dont judge me by my civic but i am checking this for my dad.
my dads bronco will start when the engine is cold and will run fine till the engine warms up and you shut it off, then it wont restart till the engine cools all the way off again which takes about an hour. this has stranded him several times and i am trying to help him out before i pcs move to texas. if anybody has any clue as to what can be causing this please help us out cause im want him to make it home for the holidays and not have to wait at work till his truck cools down.
also as just a random question has anybody experienced a problem with the steering getting super loose after a few years. i know the bronco havent been made since 96 or 97 but my dad's 93 his steering went loose about in 96 and it has a bad pull to it.he has kept the tires balanced and rotated and the front end aligned regularly but this problem will not go away. any help with these 2 problems will help greatly. i know a steering stabilizer will help steering but i just want to see if anybody else has this problem

Seriously check your radius arm bushings. I have a 94 which has had the same issues. They dry rot and then your A arms ride loosley and every bump, turn or wind gust will cause your truck to drift or even swerve if they are bad enough. If your radius arm bushings have been replaced since the vehicle was new the job is definetely a "Do it yourself" job but if they have never been replaced you'll want to have a garage do it due to the fact that heavy duty rivets hold all the brackets on the frame and must be drilled/grinded/welded off. Once replaced the first time it is simple to replace again when necessary. And it will be necessary if you plan on keeping the vehicle longer than a couple of years. My first replacements (by the garage) had been torqued down too tight and they blew out (cracked and spread) in about 6 months. Don't waist your money getting an alignment until you replace these bushings because once you replace them you will need to do it all over again. Part to do it your self will run less than $20. To have a garage do the work it cost me just under $400. SO...look at the brackets and see if they are riveted or bolted on. That will tell you if this repair has been done before.

I HAD A SIMILAR PROBLEM WITH MY 88 BRONC RUNNING ALONG JUST FINE THEN WOULD QUIT WHILE DRIVING AND NOT START BUT WHEN IT WANTED TO. :cry AFTER READING OTHERS POSTS AND SEEING THEY HAD REPLACED FILTERS AND PUMPS TO NO AVAIL, :shrug I THOUGHT THE INERTIA SWITCH MIGHT BE DEFECTIVE. I FOUND THE INERTIA SWITCH ON THE PASSENGER SIDE FLOOR RIGHT UNDER THE DASH. IT WAS FRIED. I CUT THE SWITCH AND PLUG OUT AND TIED THE TWO WIRES TOGETHER. NOW SHE IS RUNNING JUST FINE! :rockon THE DOWN SIDE IS, DONT HAVE A WRECK! GAS WILL STILL BE PUMPING! GOT A NEW SWITCH AT THE FORD HOUSE BUT IT DOESNT LOOK LIKE THE OLD ONE. IT HAS A 3 HOLE PLUG AND MY OLD ONE ONLY HAD 2. ANYWAY U GUYS MIGHT TRY THIS IF U HAVE PROBLEMS WITH STALLING OUT AND NOT STARTING. :beer NOW I THINK I'LL GO HAVE ONE. CJY
