About three and a half months ago I got rid of my 92 Chevy Camaro RS and aquired an 01 ZX2. It was not my choice, but it was done. Since then I've become interested in what this car can do when it comes to racing. It is an automatic, no aftermarket parts have been added, and no tweaking done. What can I do to increase the power of this car and make it "street worthy?"

well an auto is going to be hard, because a header, exaust, intake cam/cam gear, superchip, TB and intake will only net you low 16's where good driver in a stock 5spd will run high 15's. On top of that just to get to the low 16's you will go through 2 or 3 tranny's because the auto's are weak internaly and put out like 95whp stock. High 16's low 17's in the 1/4 depending on track and conditions.

Your best bet is if you just want it quicker, intake, chip and exaust+header. If you want 15's or lower then its either what I mentioned b4 and a full head package(2 cams and a ported and polished head) and custom chip(should be good for near mid 15's) or a turbo. But either of those will require the tranny to be built, or a manual swap, Unless you dont mind doing a tranny every 6-7mo.
