Hey, i need help deciding whether to get a 2000 GTS Celica with 39k miles or spend $5,000 more and get a 2002 Base RSX with 20k miles. im kinda on a limited budget cause im lending all the money for the car besides $5,000 so im looking for the best value i can find. Both are AUTO (parents won't let me buy stick).
What you guys think???

id go with a gts lot more power stock and you could do a hella lot with 5 grand. and the RSX base isnt too good... its RSX-S or nothing.

Well, I'll give you two answers based on two scenario's. If you can put the 5k difference into mods for the GTS, then go with the GTS but don't put the mods into engine performance. No aftermarket part amount with that amount of money will bring you out of the trench of having an automatic. You want to make it look and drive comfortable and nice.
If you can't put the 5k difference into mods, then get the RSX because base for base it's a better car. You'll at least have the automatic that gets you more chicks.

If you have to get an auto, go with the RSX. That high-winding Celica is gonna feel really gutless without a six-speed to keep the revs high.

well since both have to be autos, i would have to say the celica gts, i really dont think a base rsx can beat it or even be more of a chic magnet. Come on chics love celicas!!!!

the base rsx will have more guts with an auto than a celica will because of the more displacement.
I'd look at a Grand Am GT if you want an automatic coupe with some guts.
