How does the Volkswagen R32 compare to the 2002 Twin Turbocharged S4? bOth have very nice interiors and AWD. Both also cost relatively the same price, meaning, you can pick up a used 2001 or 2002 S4 for the price of a new R32. Which of these two has the best combination of aftermarket potential, stock performance, and daily livability?

Sorry to say but the S4 all the way. With the twin turbos, the HP is just waiting to be tapped. I know the R32 has a twin turbo kit already waiting for it, but you have to buy it. That's not fun. You want to just add a chip and get 70hp...like on the S4. I have always loved the previous S4...truly a remarkable car.

It's hard to argue with a twin turbocharged German touring car. Granted, the R32 can be twin-turbocharged for some big power as well, but that kills your factory warranty and costs a bunch of money.

Don't use that web site to compare drag times...
You can't really tell which cars are stock and which are modified.

anyways the S4 has a true AWD, it uses a torsen style tq sensing center diff. the R32 uses a crappy Haldex diff. the Haldex a diff in the rear axle that only works when it sees slip. in other word's, its mostly FWD until it sees slip then it sends power to the rear. its kinda gay and backwards if you ask me.

let's see, 2000 S4 running 11.8 @ 118.... you can't tell that's not stock?
not to mention it says it's running 20psi with Blitz exhaust, high flow cats, lightweight flywheel, and a front mount intercooler...
