Winter Tires or NO?

I am currently riding on some 18' Giovanna rims(silver) and winters starting to come up and i dont have back up rims or tires... and i dont want to spend my money if i can make it through the winter on those but should i leave em and just keep'm cleaned so they dont get ruined or should i buy a set of winter tire and rims?? and if yes... any ideas on whats good? Thank You
