do your burned CDs (CDRs) skip alot in your Intrigue CD player?

I have tried Yamaha (3 different) and Lite-On burners and the Lite-On worked much better. Try using your CDR burner at a low setting like 8x so it only burns at one uniform speed.

My best results have been with a HP CD-Writer 7500 Plus. These go for about $3-$5 and burn incredibly well. Very few if any skips. But it is a slow burner 2x. (30 minutes+ to burn a CD).

The type of media you burn on also helps. I like Fuji by the cake.

I use the CD burner that came with my computer (Gateway) but I haven't tried it in my car since my Intrigue doesn't have a CD player. :( But I blug my MP3 player into the Cassette deck and that works extremely well.

are you using lables on the cd's, I have found that they cause the cd's to skip, it makes the cd to thick.

No, we are talking GM cars here......you don't need a label to make their cd players skip!! Just a cd!!

My cd player plays commercial cd's fine, but when it comes to burned ones, it all depends on the brand of the cd. The burner brand has little to do with it (though the speed at which it's burned is important). I find memorex discs to be horrible, as well as cheap off-brand cd's. Another important thing is to use cd's designated as "Audio CD-R's" - they will work better. I like PNY, Fuji, Sony, and especially Maxell.
