Recently our 2001 suburban is buzzing loudly from the Onstar spkr above the driver's head. Can anyone elighten me on this one please? We don't subscribe to Onstar. I haven't looked for the fuse yet but would pull it if that would fix it.
Best regards, and thanks to all,

I had the same problem with my 2000 suburban and of course I thought it was a microphone for the Onstar system as well. I called my brother and he told me it was a small fan that is a sensor for the climate control system inside of the truck. When I took in for maintance the dealership fixed fit for me.

DED, thank you for your reply. I didn't think it was a speaker either but now a fan makes sense. Do you know if the headliner must be pulled back or can the fan just be pulled out?
Thanks again, I was beginning to think no-one liked me.

Steve Paul

As a quick fix I reached my hand under the headliner and disconnected the fan until I was able to get it fixed.
