Best early 90's turbo sleeper!

Which one of these turbocharged cars from the early 90's do you think makes the best sleeper? And yes, I realize that the Supra, 300ZX, and AWD DSM would smoke any of these, but those are hardly sleepers :)

There's also the MR2

I don't really think that's much of a sleeper. The cars here, almost no one has ever heard of, or almost no one knew they were turbo.

In the spirit of stupid replies, a 5.0! Seriously though, the Le Barons were kick-ass and I'd love to see one smoke a riced out civic. I'd especially love to see the "Wait.. I'm losing wtf! I NEED MORE 'SPONSOR' STICKERS FOR MORE HP!!" look on the civic driver's face as he's getting smoked :)

Not the Impulse, they handle like dog shit, I remember being scared shitless by a mates Piazza Turbo once (Same car as Impulse) only seemed to want to go in a straight line, same thing with the MX6.
Where I was from, the VR4 was by no means an unknown quantity, so not that either.
So the Dodge, or a Lancia Delta HF Turbo.

Heh, the Galant VR-4 never really did too well in America...for whatever reason, we abhor the idea of mixing sedans with performance. Goddamn image-consciousness. :/

The pizza was a product of the 80s, the 90s Impulse was a small 4dr with AWD with a 1600 twin cam Turbo (same engine that Lotus used in the Elan).
Very underated little cars.
However the VR4 Gallant has to be the best sleeper in the list, especialy the later Twin Turbo V6 versions, and espcialy since in Japan you could order any body style with any engine spec and trim level.
Here in NZ there are LOTS of 1.8l VR-G gallants that look VR4s, and Iv even seen VR4s with VR-G bumbers and side skirts.

We never got a V6 TT Galant VR-4 here, we only got the 4G63-powered Galant in '91 and '92. :(

Fait dinkum, I remember seeing a picture of an Impulse and it looked the same as a Piazza. I was wondering what an 80's car was doing in a thread with the title 90's.
I'm still pretty sure the Piazza was badged as an Impulse in the 80's. Time for a fact-finding mission!

Well, the 80's Impulses here were 2.0 turbos, but they were RWD. Then, in 1991 and 1992, they made a 1.6 turbo, but it was AWD. I was talking about the latter. :)

the Opel/Vauxhall Lotus Omega/Carlton :)
But Opel has such a bad reputation here, I'd rather go by bike.
What about the Nissan Pulsar/Sunny GTi-R?

some of the impusles had lotus tuned susepnsions, so I'd suspect they handle rather well. Add the dodge Shadow to the list. And the turbo mitsubishi colt. It came with a 1.6 turbo I think but you can drop a 4g63 right into it

not what I was trying to say, Opel is the #1 hate-brand, all the ugly poor white trash loser farmers (there's no right english word I know for them...) are driving those fart-can 1.3-1.6l Opel here.
hm hard to explain, they're not quite ricers, they're like ricer-wannabes :banghead:
anyways, I'd sell my Lotus Omega and get a real Lotus for it :D

.....well, the lotus carlton isn't quite like any other opel/vauxhall.
like i said, lotus did more than just a little work on it.
so much so that it is always refered to as the lotus carlton/omega.
opel/vauxhall have very little to do with it otehr than supplying the basic car to lotus.
anyway.

AS for the rest of you, what is so damn hard about sticking to what is on the poll!? If you don't like the poll, make your own damn poll. These are the cars that kman is interested in, so stop arguing about what you think should be on the poll.

Actually, I wasn't making this poll to decide what car I should get, this was just for fun. I'd more than likely pick up any of these if I found one for a decent price.
