Does 0w20 synthetic oil make a difference in civics compared to 5w30 synthetic? If so, like what? I use Mobil1 5w30 and I just saw Mobil1 0w20 synthetic for the first time yesterday. Just a noob question.

The 0w30 flows better at very cold temperatures. You may only need it if you live in cold climates.

id just stick with 5w or 10w-30. it wont run any better, only possibly worse

I noticed a subtle difference when using 0w-30 compared to 5w-30. I know my gas mileage went up about 2-3mpg. But certain engines might not handle it right. I know when I started using it I was burning a quart or two a month. Then it levelled off.
0w-30 is really a severe condition oil. I used it for a season of autocrossing. But now i just use 5w-30 Royal Purple or Amsoil.

i ran penzoil 0w-30 in my 00 civic si (it looked like water), and i noticed that i had to add more oil about two weeks after i changed my oil, and when i use 5w-30 mobil one i seem to get better gas mileage, dont have to add oil, and VTEC seems to run smoother. just my opinion though.

ow will clean out your engine, in a sense, and remove the oil build ups inside that may be keeping oil from leaking past seals. switching from 10w-30 regular to 5w-30 blend i noticed a couple more mpg. and i could feel a slight difference in how smooth it ran
