1)Ford GT(MSRP price)
2)Lamborghini Gallardo
3)Dodge Viper
4)Ferrari 360 Modena
5)Acura NSX
I prefer the Acura NSX because its the best bang for the buck and it has wayyyy better handling than any of the other cars...It's light weight and it looks incredably sexy....Plus it has VTEC which can beat anything

I'm gonna have to go with the Ford GT. Not that you can really get it for under 150K...but if you could, it'd wipe the floor with all of these cars.

In all fairness to Ferrari, I think a more appropriate car would have been the 360 CS and not the Modena. That has been proven to be a very close race. (Ford GT and the 360 CS)
With that in mind I would have to say GT because I'm a Ford fanboy and it's a little less likely to be seen on the road. Even in the Detroit area, 360s aren't horribly uncommon. (For 100k+ cars) Now I'd venture to say that very few if any are the CS, but still a normal person can't tell the difference. So GT for the the rarity factor.

Same here.
As for the poll, give me the 360 Modena hands down.

give me one good reason why 0-60 in 5.0 seconds flat is not fast!!...NSX has 280-290 and can run circles and waffles and pancakes around all those cars lets review thier specs
NSX-0-60 5.0s
Gallardo-0-60 3.9s
GT-3.9s
360 Modena-4.4s
Viper SRT10-4.1s

Yes because 0-60 is what these care are know for. And where did you pull those numbers anyway. The "We publish the slowest car numbers" magazine? Or the "I'm pulling the numbers convenient to my argument" magazine?
The modena is a flat-low 4 sec car, the srt-10 is high 3 sec car etc....
And you are severily deluded if you think the NSX "can run circles and waffles" around those cars.
And you still haven't answered my question is it the under 200k comparo or under 150k?

the gt is the best by far, no competition. and the nsx is not the best bang for the buck, that cars a friggin rip if ive ever seen one, the only thing that car has going for it is light weight. if acura would pump out AT LEAST 400 hp it would be worth buying.
and also, has anyone seen topgear where the nsx beat the vette in the quarter mile? wtf was that all about, i know for a fact an nsx wouldnt touch a vette, them britts need to learn how to drive (no offense but it had to be bad driving)

Back on topic....I believe those 0-60 times are fairly accurate...The SRT-10's 0-60 was recorded by Car&driver as 4.1s and R&T recorded it as 3.9s

I'd probably go for the Ford GT as well. Pretty much every comparo ever that included the GT vs. 360 vs. GT3 or 911 Turbo has resulted with a win for ford. I like the styling of the 360 more, but theres no argueing against the times the Ford puts down. However, it appears the Ferrari is quickly pulling together the car that should beat the Ford GT, the F430. One of the biggest reasons the 360 cant match the GT is the massive power difference, however the F430 has about 490hp, which will put it under 4.0s for 0-60. If the F430 were in this comparo I'd take that otherwise...
1) Ford GT
2) 360 Modena
3) Gallardo
4) NSX
5) Viper (I just don't like this car)

The NSX has the most refined VTEC system in any Honda/Acura model......simply put it Valve timing is the replacement for displacement and thats why the NSX's 280HP give it a distinct advantage over the non-VTEC cars. whats it lacks in accerlation,it dominates over the other cars in handling and reliability

280 HP doesn't cut it in the world of super cars. Not to mention the 220-something torque.

Somehow I doubt that. Maybe when the car came out but not anymore. I would be willing to bet that the I Vtec in the RSX type S and R is more advanced.
And it doesnt dominate at all over the other cars. Last time i checked in a BM video the Gallardo beat the NSX-R. So a Gallardo would destroy a regular NSX.
Same goes for the modena, it seems not to be doing to well in certain BM tracks but it did manage to beat the NSX R on the higher speed Fuji track. And again the regular NSX is far slower than the type R.

aw crap i woulda hoped the nsx type r would beat a modena.. o wells lol
also in that video i think i saw it.. the nsx r was doing well until it "overheated" right? im pretty sure it woulda taken the modena when "gan-san" or whatever u call him.. drove it was pretty quick.. im sure 1 or 2 more corners the hp difference between the 2 cars wouldn't have mattered the way he took the turns

well it did beat the modena on one of the tracks. I think is Tsukuba, the 360 seems to do particularly poorly on that one track. It could be the driver or its gear ratios/suspeion might be particularly unsuited for it. The modena seems to like much better the higher speed fuji.
I'll watch the video again to make sure, but the modena was already gaining on it before the overheating.

Well the plan was to build a new one but, they did offcially scrap it. I guess they did not want to repeat the financial disaster of the first one.

Some people might not like the design but from a performance standpoint is better in all regards.
Folloow the link in my sig, it will take you to the F430 section. I posted a bunch of articles there with details about it.

I get so sick of hearing people say stupid crap like this. There is NO replacement for displacement. It is a simple matter of physics. Not a turbo, supercharger, N2O, technology, tuning, and not even your stupid Vtec can replace displacement.
This is quite simple, airflow equals power, and the more air you displace the more power your engine will produce. Say for example we add a turbo kit to the NSX and then say wee add that same turbo kit to the Viper. The Viper will yield higher gains than the NSX will.
Airflow equals power, that is all there is to it. The more you can move, the faster you can move it with the least resistance heat, the more power you will produce. The bigger your engine, the better your exhaust and intake, the more airflow you will have.

Ok, just to clarify up a few things. Honda VTEC (Valve Timming Electronic Control) is theirs, but its nothing that other car manufactures don't have (VVT is 80s tech.). Its just Honda's trademark and design for a variable valve timming system.
The VTEC system alone doesn't actually variably change the timming of the valves. What it has are two sets of different cams (2stage) that have different duration and lifts designed for specific rpm. There are also 3 stage setups that would be used in low, mid, and high rpm states. Honda uses this system (VTEC), Mittsubishi (MIVEC), Nissan (VVL).
A variable timming system uses what they call cam-phasing. This system can actually vary the timming. What happens is it shifts the phase angle of the camshafts to change the timming the valves open (mainly by a hydraulic gear). Many automakers use this system. BMW, Ferrari, Audi, Ford, Toyota, and on and on.
VTEC is old. Honda's new system is called i-VTEC. This is basically combining both systems. Toyota also has a similar system (VVTL-i).
So I guess to sum it all up, VTEC is nothing super extraordinary. In fact, its just as old as the NSX. As much as I like the NSX, its just not competitive for its price anymore. I would also choose the Ford GT.
