I want to know how to lower my car using factory suspension that requires no cutting welding or installing other parts if it's possible. Im only looking at about 1-2".

Your SOL! The best way to lower a car is with fully adjustable coilovers, expect to spend at least $700. Another good way, mostly used for trucks, is modified control arms/spindles. Other than that you either need coilover sleeves or lowering springs. Cutting or heating is the last resort, only time that should be done is if there are no aftermarket parts available for you car.

Trust me if you want to modify your suspension, spend the money for quality parts & do it right.

You can't lower with stock parts. How would you expect to do it without cutting, welding or changing out any parts, makes no sense if you think about it.

Put in about 8 50lbs sand bags. 4 in under the hood and 4 in the trunk.

That's for a 1" drop. If you want a 2" drop you put in 16 bags :)

If you want a slammed look take out the springs.

White sand is lighter than darker because darker sand absorbs more sunlight and more energy means more weight :)

If you weigh 155lbs then you would need to jump up and down on your car about 2 years for it to compress about 1/8".

Thank god you were just kidding. You sounded seriously when you said you were going to do that in your thread from the exterior forum!

Matt, actually there is a way to lower your car using stock suspension... with out heating or cutting. A few years ago, there was a clamp that would clamp coils together on your springs to slightly lower it. I dont know if they make that anymore... again, thats old school stuff.

Remember though you go the cheap way you get a cheap ass suspension that might be worse than stock. Do us all a favor and do it right the first time so you don't come back on here complaining of your crappy suspension.

CivicSiRaccer: I would never recomend it... but I just wanted to share that with Matt. I doubt they make those anymore. I think the only reason they were made was because suspension parts were much more expensive many years ago and not as abundant as it is today.

Jackasssiyou quote, and dont leave a reply... did you forget to add something?

It's just a Civic, not a NASCAR, Paul, LOL! j/k man. I wouldn't trust ANYTHING that clamps to the spring, not with my 10kg/559lbs. springs at least. ;)

That is a great idea! That should really improve his handling too. :iceslolan :iceslolan
