its been 5 years since i've last driven my 87 fiero 4 tech, i would like to take out the old fuel, i heard there is a way to wire (at the computer connection) the relay to keep the fuel pump running, i'd take the lines off at the trotle body and let the fuel pump out to a bottle

There are 2 easy ways.
1. Every GM car ever built with an electric fuel pump (that I've ever seen) including Fieros, have a fuel pump test lead. This lead:
a. is usually bright red
b. is always on the left (Driver's) side of the car
c. is always in the engine compartment (This means it's in the back on Fieros)
d. has a female terminal on it that looks like it's supposed to plug into something
Apply 12v to this wire using a jumper wire from the positive battery terminal or any other constant 12v source in the car, as long as you supply power, the fuel pump will run.
2. Unplug the fuel pump relay (located on the left (Driver's) side of the engine compartment forward bulkhead. Apply 12V
to terminal B (they are marked) using a jumper wire from the positive battery terminal or any other constant 12v source in the car. The pump will run as long as you supply power.
*tip* It's often easier to remove the left (Driver's) side engine compatment vent louvers to gain access to the fuel pump relay and test lead.
*warning* Do not run the fuel pump dry (empty fuel tank) for more then 3-5 seconds, or you could damage or destroy it.
